Bad User Experiences: How Analytics Can Improve App Testing

Because of analytics, Amazon knows what you want before you know it. So does Target. But: Analytics is not only something used for point of sale experiences. Sometimes, “conversion” means something other than getting someone to buy something.

Sometimes it simply means that someone likes using your application. Sometimes it means creating something that makes it easier for your employees to do their jobs. Sometimes conversion means that someone did what you wanted them to do, like use a knowledge base to answer their question (cheap) instead of calling your global help line (expensive).

The One Big Mistake To Avoid With Big Data Analytics

One of the most common mistakes I’ve seen organizations make as they try to incorporate big data into their analytics processes is that they consider big data as having a completely separate and distinct set of capabilities. Many companies are setting up internal processes and organizational features to focus specifically and only on big data.

Three uses of predictive analytics

Every day, human beings create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data, according to IBM. It comes from an array of sources as diverse as environmental sensors, social media, smartphones, digital images and videos, records of transactions and so on. For any data to be useful it has to be accessed, collected, stored and analysed. Valuable insights can now be gained by businesses deploying innovative analytics and using them to predict outcomes.
